EID’L FITR: Culminating Day of the Holy Month of Ramadan

eid-ul-fitr-2011Eid Mubarak! This is the joyous greetings of the Muslim brothers as they celebrate the culminating day of their 30 religious days of fasting. This holy day is called, Eid’l Fitr.    The mosques today are filled with worshipers clothed with their traditional best.  They are obliged to attend their congressional prayers, in order to give thanks and praise to their God, Allah.

Prior to this celebration, they have fasted and prayed for the whole month of August, or the Holy Month of Ramadan as they say.  This month is the month of solemnity and prayers.  Following they regular schedule of prayers or sala, they gathered together at the mosques as they uttered their rituals and ceremonies.  And today they officially ended their days of fasting.

As Ramadan officially closed, may the Muslim brothers, put into practice all the teachings of their God, Allah.  As they ended their festivity, may they also become the living examples of other religions in fulfilling their duties and proclaiming their faith all over the world.  Inshallah!
